50' Spread Axle Wilson Grain Trailer - Finally, Some Progress Worth Sharing
I feel embarrassed that I haven't finished a 50' Wilson Grain trailer, especially since these were not far behind my very first 43' Wilson grain trailer design. I was able to make some progress on a spread axle 50' version, and this time I decided to paint the outside skin with black. Although white is most common, black trailers are also common, and look nice matched with a well painted tractor.

That looks great. Just as soon as I get a few more spine cars bought, I'll be ordering a bunch of your trucks and grain trailers. Modeling BNSF and NS just east of Kansas City. BNSF services a fairly large elevator complex with a balloon track just east of me in Hardin MO..

that is exactly the reason I designed my grain trailer. I personally pull a Wilson when hauling grain for the family farm, and have always had an interest in grain operations. Mixing my railroad hobby with my interest in ag is a great thing.

ReplyDeleteyeah, that frame is stretched, but I do have 2 different sizes, this one being the longest. I have always liked the look of a Pete with straight pipes and a stretched frame. Just personal preference. Of course there is plenty of room for a sleeper too.
